Unfortunately for Ed his plan had worked, and once word had gotten back to Daniel about his brother been beating Ed got a terrible beating. When Daniel was beating ed, he said the words teach you to mess with my brother which happened to be a good sign for Ed in the way that it showed that Daniel really did care for his brother.

Emotion

Without any doubt I believe one of the most emotional parts in the book is where ed is trying to find who had been sending these messages to him (finding who the messenger is). Since day 1 ed has been suffering. From day 1 he has been wondering or should I say trying to find out who the messenger is and why he was chosen to do the tasks. But after finding out who had been sending these sick messages, he gives ed all the answers he needed. But instead gave ed new questions to ask and even worse Ed had been feeling worse than what he did before. While talking with the messenger he spills everything out, meaning he tells Ed that he had killed his father, he planned the bank at the very start of the book to happen, and was telling the man on Edgar Street to brutally beat his wife, and so on. He also added in that he planned for their conversation that they were having. Which made Ed feel very emotional, in the end ed was told by the messenger to keep living and it ended there.

Intellectual

I suppose it kind of comes down to say if this way of living for Ed is a bad way or a good way. Yeah it all turned out good in the end for Ed, but you have to think it could’ve gone very bad in the way that could have been scarred for life, which is kind of a lucky going not to go this way and a very good point. Luckily and thankful for Ed, he kept on going on with his life after this experience feeling better in himself seeing a better picture for himself. After being the Disappointment compared to his brother or the so-called shadow of Tommy, he now believes he is better and sees that he is changing and becoming more confident, they are both the light not him the dark and tommy the light anymore. After suffering through all them challenges he went through Ed feels way better in himself and the feeling of accomplishing a lot.

Conclusion

Ed faced all these challenges physically, emotionally and intellectually and they were all very difficult for him without a doubt. But they were all about the same difficulty. If you were to compare it would be like comparing a cat to an elephant, the way different from each other. There are different opinions in everyone and different viewpoints. For example, if what I think is difficult, some may say it’s a piece of cake. In conclusion there is no easy answer none of the challenges have their most difficult because they are all difficult in their own ways.
