Republican Chris Jankowski’s Ideas

Republican Chris Jankowski had an idea that could change history. Jankowski thought of this project by reading an article in the New York Times, as he was reading he realized that 2010 is what they call a zero year. According to the dictionary year zero is the beginning of a revolutionary change. Since Jankowski was part of the Republican Sate Leadership Committee of the Unite States they named this project REDMAP which is abirritated for Redistricting Majority Project.

The reason behind this project is for Republicans to have a political advantage by manipulating district boundaries which is called gerrymandering. The strategy was created for what is called blue states which are Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. The Republicans and Jankowski motives for this project is not if a Republican win or not, the problem is when the blue sates like Pennsylvania for example where Democrats have the majority of the votes than Republicans. They just want to make sure that the election is fair and the side with the majority of votes wins fair and square.

Founder and chief of FiveThirtyEight, an American Statistician and writer who analyzes baseball and elections Nate Silver took everyone by surprise with his predictions of the launch of Barack Obama winning the elections. The idea of lunching the website FiveThirtyEight according to Silver came up when he was in the New Orleans airport, “I was just frustrated with the analysis, says Silver. I saw a lot of discussion about strategy that was not all that sophisticated, especially when it came to quantitative things like polls and demographics” (Hayes, “What will Nate Silver do next?”).

People will tell Silver that politic and baseball had nothing alike, but he would answer them by saying that politics would remind him of baseball because everyone would always use the same wisdom and clichés over and over again. The main idea of the website is to focus on opinion poll analysis, politics, economics, and sports blogging. Since the day the website had been launched articles have been published about current politics and political new, you can see from federal economic policies to elections around the world.

George Gallup is not just the first pollster but is well known for changing American History in politics. During the year 1932 the presidential elections where approaching, and that’s when a light bulb turns on to Gallup. Gallup decided to use his ad-testing ideas to assess the state of politics and created what is called Gallup poll. A Gallup poll according to the dictionary “is an assessment of public opinion by the questioning of a statistically representative sample” (google dictionary). Basically, the idea of this is that surveys will be conducted worldwide, these surveys will aid leaders to have a better understanding of their people attitudes, behavior and their well-being. In these surveys everyone will be asked the same question in the same way as the last person every time. Gallup polls will track important issue happening worldwide, you can find surveys about food access, employment, leadership performance, and etc.

Plan on building a “Great Society”

After the aftershock of the assassination of Kennedy, it gave Lyndon B Johnson the opportunity to complete unfinished work. During the year 1964, Johnson laid out his plan on building a “Great Society” who’s goals were to end poverty, reduce crime, abolish inequality, improve the environment, and eliminate the trouble for the poor. The first part of the plan was for Johnson to sign the Civil Rights Bill that JFK promised to sign, this bill banned discrimination on race and gender in employment and also ending segregation in public facilities. Another document that was signed was the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 which was created for the office of Economic Opportunity who’s propose was to attack the roots of American poverty. These two documents were not the only ones that helped build the “great Society” there were two educations acts that were passed, legislation was also passed to create job opportunity, Volunteers in Service America (VISTA), Medicaid, and Medicare.

Hillary Clinton was the first women to be nominated by a major party to run for presidency in American history. In every speech and interview that Clinton would do she would always talk about women participating in politics. In an interview Clinton stated “The idea that women have to fit certain stereotypes; that’s a weight around the ankle of every ambitious woman I’ve ever meet, we get constant messaging our whole lives: You’re not thin enough, talented enough, smart enough. Your voice isn’t what we want to hear” (Siddiqui, 2017). In 1995 Clinton made a speech talking about how women’s right are also human rights, in this speech she argues that women’s right is not being treated the same way you would treat human right issues. The main idea of giving the speech was to show the public of the importance and urgency for equal rights and how vital it is for women’s right in the future of the society. Since Clinton has given the speech women have brought of combination of alliance to bring a peace table and build a consensus. “A global study from 2015 found that women’s participation increases the probability of a peace agreement lasting at least two years by 20%. Researchers analyzed 40 peace processes that have taken place since the Cold War, and there was a much higher chance of reaching a peace agreement when women were able to have a strong influence over negotiations” (‘Hillary Clinton on the Importance of Women at the Peace Table’).

Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch

Charles G. Koch and David H. Koch are two people that do campaign financing and political advocacy, these two men are well-known as the Koch Brothers. The Koch Brothers goal was to change the country from a democratic society that has a strong middle class to a society that has an oligarchic form where the economic and political life is controlled by an amount of billionaire families. The Koch Brothers are known for throwing tens of millions of dollars into dark money nonprofits-groups that promote or criticize candidates that are running for office. These brothers started gaining the attentions of the public and the media when through their family foundations the brothers decide to contribute to 34 political and policy organizations. The Koch Brother stated that they plan on raising about $880 million to support the candidates of the election in 2016 and to give a little bit over than $100 million to conservative and libertarian policy.

According to the dictionary, political conservatism it is any political philosophy that goes to favor tradition in terms with external forces for a change and is also a critical of proposals for radical social change. Ronald Reagan believed that politics is based on a supply-side economics and a laissez-faire philosophy that’s seeks to stimulate an economy with large tax cuts. Reagan had an ability to celebrate the achievements and aspirations of nation that it made him complete two terms in office. To the people he was a figure of reassurance or stability for them, because of him wanting to cut programs that contended the country, he would label these programs as “waste”, “fraud” and “abuse”. That is why in the 1980s the Reagan Era started because during his presidency he solidified conservative Republican strength by having a tax cut, increasing the defense spending, deregulation, creating a policy for rolling back communism and lastly appeals to family values and conservative morality.
