If I Could Travel Anywhere in the World, Where Would it Be?

Topics: Mardi Gras

I would want to visit New Orleans, a busy city because it never sleeps or shuts down. A complex blend of Irish, Spanish, German, French African, and Native American influences created a unique regional culture. Bourbon Street is an excellent example of the lively and energetic personality of New Orleans. From what I have read, people that are on Burbon Street are like like a colony of ants. There is noise, music, singers, statures, a church on the street, and the bar across.

It is truly amazing. The choice and variety of shrimp, crawfish, and lobster are available at most restaurants in the city and other dishes are just an order away. I heard it is the best and the worse all tied up in one big, busy city. The city is famous for the Mardi Gras carnival, which  is “Fat Tuesday.” Mardi Gras is a festival that attracts thousands of people from all around the world, and it features drama, music, parades, street parties, and the world’s greatest jazz, Cajun style.

New Orleans is in Louisiana, the Pelican state. It’s a bit turbulent, but tourists love its flavor and traditions.   I want to go there so that I can hear, see, smell, and taste, the great variety that everyone talks about. I want to experience and live “The Big Easy” as everyone calls it. I want to walk on the streets and see it for myself. The picture that worth a thousand words. I want to live through the scene of this Cajun world below sea level.

When I get there, ill ride down the streets on the street trolley that surrounds Burbon and enjoy the scenes, I would visit the zoo, the cafes, and all of the historical must-sees of the city.

I’ll stop at a few art galleries to see what the major art themes are all about. Music is popular in New Orleans, so I will buy some famous art pieces. New Orleans has three distinct sounds, all of which were developed in urban areas, and caught on throughout the region. These New Orleans-bred styles of music are blues, jazz, and a more recent genre like bounce music. In all these forms, life in New Orleans in its energetic urban context is depicted through the music’s portrayal of action, emotion, and event. The music has also helped to shape New Orleans’s cultural identity, which is unquestionably different from any other culture in the world in behavior, daily life, ethics, and language. If a trip is not something to remember, it is not worth the trouble. New Orleans is one of the most popular places to visit in the United States.  When I go, I plan to make it an experience of a lifetime.
