Five Forms Of Government

There are five forms of government, and living under each form of government is different. The forms of government are Communism, Socialism, Republic, Totalitarianism, and Anarchy. People ask why and how are each form of government are different to live under? What is it like to live under communism? According to Quora, everybody had a home, and a job, so life was good. In Communism, somebody else controlled the power like for an example the government. Communism is how an average local American citizen lives today.

Socialism is also good to live under because everyone is assigned to do something. It has a lot of benefits that it comes with too. For an example, school is free all the way up to 12th grade, and after you retire there’s also a retirement plan, so you can get basic income without working. There’s plenty of more other benefits that come with socialism.

The republic form of government, the power of the government is run by citizens, not leaders.

Instead of leaders giving power to the people, it’s the other way around. Living under totalitarianism is tough, repeatable, and boredom days of just going to work/school coming home and doing it all over again. Citizens have no control of power at all, the government is in total control. Citizens are scared to express their actual feelings, so they pretend they love the way they live, but they actually don’t. Citizens are scared, because expressing their true feelings, can get them in a lot of trouble or killed.

Totalitarianism is not that common nowadays, but some countries still live under that form of government. For example, North Korea, China, and Iraq are live under the form of totalitarianism. Living under an anarchy form of government allows people to do anything they wanted. It is the total opposite of totalitarianism, there was no control, no laws, you were allowed to do anything you pleased. In some ways, living in an anarchy can be good, because you are free to do anything you want, but sometimes it can be scary. A reason why it can be scary to live in anarchy because anyone can come rob, rape, or kill you without getting in any trouble.

Section 3 federalism

Federalism is when the power is divided between the national government, and other governments, according to cliff notes. The United States is an example of a federalist country, and they were the first to be a federal system. Many other countries are also federalist nowadays. An example of a federalism current court case is an Opioid Epidemic addiction. Opioids are a drug, that is in the same class as heroin, and many more other serious drugs. Many people around the world are overdosing on opioids, and which is causing a huge amount of deaths in the U.S. and around the world. NCSl stated, that more people were killed by overdosing on opioids than car crashes in 2015. New York Times also stated, that 50,000 people just died alone last year to the cause of opioid addiction. Why taking opioids can be so addicting, Opioids release off endorphins, which those are your brain’s feel-good transmitters. Endorphins give feelings of pleasure, and which gives you a sense of feeling well. When the opioid dose wears off, all those good feelings go away, so people keep taking them to get those good feelings back.

Section 4 Finances / Budget

The Federal Reserve is the main bank of the United States, was created to have a safer financial system for the country. The free market is when prices are chosen by competition between privately owned businesses. The United States state and national debt are higher than ever. According to the balance.com, the U.S. owes 21 trillion dollars of right now, and it slowly rising more. What is the government spending so much money on, which is leading the U.S in so much debt? The government spends a ton of money on federal and state in the U.S., but what on? Most government state spending is on education, health, and social service programs. According to Urban.org, the government spends about ⅓ of state spending towards elementary schools and higher education. According to the National Priorities Project they stated, federal spending splits in 3 ways, by mandatory spending, discretionary spending, and interest on the debt. National Priorities Project also stated that the federal budget is about 3.8 trillion dollars.

Section 5 political issues

Three political issues discussed in class were DACA, emails, and Benghazi. DACA is a program that was made by President Obama back in 2012, it stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Kyle Grillot, NBC News). DACA is made for immigrants, which protected them from getting deported, that came in the U.S. as children (Liz Robins, New York Times). Liberal activist says they’re going to shut down the government this Christmas if Republicans do not agree to protect young immigrants from deportation, according to New York Times Republicans want Donald Trump to eliminate the visa lottery system, so people get deported. According to The Washington Post, Republicans get 60 votes alone in the Senate to get rid of DACA .  Hillary Clinton emails went all over the place. China got all of Hillary Clinton’s email by hacking her server, which included a lot of classified information from the U.S.

Republicans viewpoint on Hillary emails, that Republicans were unhappy with Hillary not charged for mishandling her emails. A democratic viewpoint on Hillary emails is, that DNC officials are asking Hillary to return the money that they gave her for her campaign email list and other materials. HUFFPOST stated the DNC gave Hillary Clinton 1.65 million dollars for her campaign email list and other sources. Benghazi is a big city in Eastern Libya, and VOX stated that there were planning to an attack on US diplomatic and intelligence facilities on September 11, 2012. According to CNN Obama administration, they thought the attack was carried out by an angry mob reaction to a video. The angry mob was a trap and it was actually a terrorist attack, that killed up to 4 U.S. citizens including U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens. In a conservative perspective, Republicans blame Hillary Clinton for Benghazi attack. According to CNN, Clinton didn’t do anything, to improve security in Benghazi, which led to deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other men during the attacks on a U.S. outpost and a CIA annex. Democrats said, that Clinton, did not personally deny any requests for increased security at the compound.

Conclusion

What I have learned, after completing this assignment were a lot of things. First of all, I learned this assignment was challenging for me because it was my first ever research assignment I had to do, which required to find 2 sources from 2 different sides. I found, that section of the paper the most challenging, because I didn’t know exactly what to do, or what websites should I use for factual information only. I also learned how to research a lot more, to get the most information I can. After completing this research paper, it only did not teach me how to write a better research paper, but it also prepared me for my test.
