Through this project, I learned immensely how to prepare a formal, systematic and structured report of a Financial Company. Yes Bank is Indias fourth largest private sector bank. It was established in 2004 by Rana Kapoor and Ashok Kapur.
In the financial year ending 31st March 2018, it generated net revenues in excess of Rs 25,491 crores, along with a net profit of approximately Rs 4,224 crores. Apart from operating as a corporate bank it also performs other subsidiary functions like asset management and retail banking.
It has around 1150 branches and over 1800 ATMs across India. It is listed in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), National Stock Exchange (NSE) and even London Stock Exchange.
In addition to all this, it has received several awards and has been rewarded for its excellence like Indias Fastest Growing Bank of the Year Award at the Bloomberg and UTV Financial Leadership Awards 2011, and Indian Bank of the Year, by The Banker London in 2015.
Its Headquarters is in Mumbai, Maharashtra and its current CEO is Ravneet Gill. Its chairman as Brahm Dutt. It has over 18,238 employees all over India, as on 2018. It deals in several products like Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Corporate Banking, Consumer Banking, Mortgage Loans, Finance and Insurance, etc.
During the course of my tenure as an intern in the H.R Department with the company, I worked in its West Patel Nagar and Okhla Phase-1 offices. My learnings included, Understanding Onboarding and Joining formalities for new employees.
My day to day tasks involved assisting my HCMs (Human Capital Managers) in accomplishing their monthly targets of hiring 80 candidates per team and completing their registration process and documentation online for their background verification.
Apart from all this I also helped in the conducting of Interview Drives for 30-40 candidates at a time, and did follow up work for newly hired candidates to complete their pre hire and post hire formalities related to joining.
My office hours were usually from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, for 6 weekdays, with only even Saturdays (2nd and 4th) being Holidays, or Weekly Offs. Our dress code was formal, with compulsory Ties to be worn. The only exceptional days when casual wears (with collars) was allowed was on Saturdays.
My seniors and colleges (fellow interns) were extremely helpful and gracious to help me learn how to work and to acquaint myself with the work culture of the company and my surroundings in general.
Through this exemplary opportunity, I was able to get a hang of the corporate life and of the skills and temperament that will be required by me in the future course of my career, which will help me grow, professionally.
I spent 6 weeks in the firm, and got good exposure to the real job market, where practical application of the theoretical knowledge I learned so far, is essential.
I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all those who provided me the possibility to complete this report. A special gratitude I give to our project-manager, Dr. Karnica Tanwar maam, whose contribution in stimulating suggestions and encouragement, helped me to coordinate my project especially in writing this report.
Further -more I would also like to acknowledge with much appreciation the crucial role of my companions, seniors and colleges, in developing this project. I have to appreciate the guidance given by other supervisors as well in my project presentation that has improved my presentation skills, thanks to their comment and advices.
