Christian Views of Purpose of Education

The purpose of education is to grasp all instruction and discipline which is intended to inform the understanding, correct the anger, form the behaviors and habits of our youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future.

I will start by talking about the curriculum purpose in education from a Christian view. A Christian curriculum searches for all things such as knowledge and wisdom of God. In the Psalm 111:2 it says, “Great are the works of the Lord; they are studied by all who delight in them.

” (NIV Bible) The goal of a curriculum is to make sure we understand the full material and can master each subject within the view of biblical world view.

As a soon to be teacher there are many important views as a Christian we must make sure we hit in education. Our jobs as teachers are to inspire, inform and instruct our students. It is a privileged to impress to get our future students we hold the future for our students.

Next, I will talk about the expectations from parents, communities, and the state. I will first start with the expectations with parents in a Christian view of education. We as soon to be teachers we expect that the parents get involved in their child’s education. We hope that parents will demonstrate a positive attitude toward every child’s school education by showing interested in school events. Helping your child be the best they can be by being groomed well, taking care of them when sick, and making sure students arrive on time.

There are many expectations we expect for parents but not all get met.

The next one is Society or communities. We expect a ton of things from our communities to help. We worry so much about how our community views us and not about how God made each one of us different for a reason. We need to remember that in the school, church, and community we want to spread God’s expectations. Meaning we want to devote our faith in him and give him a chance to make a change. In education views we want to reflect on Jesus Christ teachings such as forgiveness, kindness, good health, and be able to handle our faith in any situation.

The last thing I will talk about is different examples of opposing demands such as job preparation, disciple making, and kingdom-building.

Disciple making is when you follow a person. You are building the kingdom of God. When you are a disciple of God you embrace the way we look at life. Most disciples want to help baptize others but only if they are allowed to teach others to observe. My favorite thing about disciple making is the transformation we make for not only ourselves but for everyone around us. When it comes to kingdom building there are many decisions that come into place. For example we always hear in the bible, “Your kingdom come”

Matthew 6:10 it talks about the future. It reminds us today that our society and communities are like the kingdom. We worship the value of living in this society because it is home. All in all there are many things that make the kingdom building so important in society

In conclusion there are many Christian world views about education. Everyone has there own based on there own religion. In a Christian view we see and understand that our goal and objective is based on the philosophy and content of materials. As I stated in the top of my paper the curriculum, teacher view, community expectations, parents expectations, kingdom building, and disciple making. We use all of these to make a strong Christian philosophy in education with certain views.
