Childhood is the primary stage of life. It knows no worry or anxiety, no good or evil
it is the period both ignorance and Innocence the heart of the child if after the president
For many of us Childhood is an absolute bliss and it’s something we would always love to talk upon. But for few it would be a nightmare which they could never forget. This is due to various reasons and one among which is Child abuse. Child abuse comes in many different forms, from parental neglect to physical or even sexual abuse.
Depending on the duration and intensity of the assault, and the relationship between the predator and the child, the impacts can vary from physical hurt to psychological responses to the trauma that would later require counseling and medications to cure. Dave Pelzer very well quoted that Childhood should be carefree, playing n the sun,not living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul. At an age of utmost vulnerability, becoming a victim of child abuse can alter an individuals relationship with themselves and the world around them.
The trust that they put on each individual who crosses their path, when broken by one predator, can provoke them to live in constant fear of being betrayed. Child abuse causes adverse affects not only in the physical and emotional aspects of a child but also penetrates into their psychological responses and thus can impede their relationship with their loved ones as well.
.Counseling refers to the therapeutic link between a qualified therapist and a client.
It entails the process by which a counselor and a client work collectively to achieve divergent means to experience psychological, relationships and emotional concerns. Counseling is a simple form that entails the procedure of giving guidance and advice.
A child who has suffered through the abuse might end up building within themselves anxiety and depression which might cause them to dissociate from the relationships that can most probably bring healing and restoration to their lives. Often young victims arent fully aware of what is happening to them while the abuse is happening or whom to open up to. This can further push them into isolation and lead to a poor self image. The effects of child abuse does not end in an individuals childhood, rather grows up with them into adulthood straining their ability to create and maintain relationships. They can develop eating disorders, can resort to the comfort of alcohol and drug use, may get involved in criminal activity, and have trouble concentrating in school or work. Some serious cases of abuse and neglect in children can also lead to self harm and suicide if preventative measures are not taken.
Children who suffer such crimes should be given the support and help to overcome the trauma theyve faced at such young ages and to come to terms with who they are and their potential to succeed in the world. Their recovery depends on the few people around them who they can trust and should be complemented by a society that takes the right step in punishing the abuser and not the victim. So one of them who could help these affected people is a Councillors.
