The Skill For Tomorrow case study is about conflict, leadership and leading teams issues. Skill for tomorrow is a government-supported organization which is active in providing enough skills for at-risk young generation to achieve job career by appropriate training courses. there are some morale problems inside the organization. Various variables are affecting the confidence of SFT director teams.

In this article have been tried to discover and find out the main reasons and find feasible solutions for problems based on the case study’s information.

Main issues in the Harrisburg location

SFT company is located in Pennsylvania and has some issues in the Harrisburg location. The ranking of this location has been continuously declining so the organization wants to know what is the reason for this.

To entirely find out why the company was on out of the way to achieve its goals, several tools were applied to evaluate the issues.

Different aspects like exhibit 2 and some tools like five personality traits were implemented for discovering the behavior of the staff at Harrisburg.

Lack of communication, poor trust and weak teamwork are other problems in Harrisburg. Among current staff, distrust has been built due to teamwork cohesive model. Lots of rumors and gossips being spread inside the organization and it affects Alvarez and other managers performance. Job dissatisfaction among several staff caused to behavioral changes in organization and also affected duty performance and organization structure.

The root causes

The main root cause of declining the rank is highly likely tied with Ted Alvarez because of weak performance as playing leadership roles in the company. Further more there is no team mentality among staff. Ted Alvarez got a failure to understand that he plays a new role in an organization because he recently started to work and he was not familiar with the culture of this branch and changes were hard to accept. These challenges have led to having a feeling of inequality and conflict when they were working on budgeting.

Due to budget variation and substitution of new executive director, Mr.Alvarez with old one, low ranking of Harrisburg branch all of them caused to increase the stress level. Ted Alvarez just emphasized on ranking rate, so staff’s stress was added more. In term of lack of communication, most of the employees at SFT have severed degree problem with talking to each other because they find it noise in their try to communicate which is refer to a language barrier. For example, some staff has language limitation with Yu and they do not communicate enough. Finally lack of impressive group work , communication between staff and target setting , lack of job satisfactory feedback system in workplace for Ted’s staff to inform him and provide them to paly important role in decision making process , or duty control to have more participation in heading educational targets , all of mentioned points should be considered in strategic planning for organization.

Martina Jones can introduce and explain some topics for executive officer of SFT organization in order to get success and consequently achieving high ranking among other branches. These vital factors will keep SFT on track as a successful operating goevrnemnt-sposored organization. We can call them internal factors which is include remarkably competent staffs who have been cooperating with SFT for more than a decade who are engaged to their occupations and rely on the mission of SFT. First approach is implementation of weekly group creating activities ,

The second one is team leadership challenges by Alvarez which is highly recommended for him to take again some leadership training courses . Third activities can be whole SFT team social activities which allow members to create close freinedship and understand each other well.
