An Opinion Against the Use of Euthanasia

Euthanasia is the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. I disagree with this. They have the right to continue their lives until the natural end. Who are we to say that they should die when the patients can’t take it anymore? That should be left for God to decide In the Muslim religion, we believe that euthanasia is bad because we die when God says we die. He’s giving people a chance to live and no chance at all for the people who have passed away as a child.

No one has the right to take the life of another human being. A belief stated in the Quran, “[2.28] [Allah] will cause you to die and again bring you to life, then you shall be brought back to Him.” This states that if a creator has created an individual than He will decide whether you live or die and you can’t take matters into your own hands.

I think Kevorkian just wanted to end his patient’s suffering, which i admire about him.

He served the best interests of his patients. Yes, it might be bad for my religion but it might not be for Kevorkian’s, if he had one. In 2007, Kevorkian went on an interview with Larry King on CNN. “King: Wasn’t it hard, though, even though I know you were taking people out of pain, wasn’t it hard for a doctor who takes that oath to administer life to help people die? Kevorkian: Well, it’s not to help them die.

See, everyone’s got this backwards. It’s to relieve them of their intolerable and unending suffering. The patient’s wish – see, that‘s not my wish. And that’s what… Hippocrates says. He says you are the servant of the patient. The servant. But doctors today consider themselves, you know, the overlord of the patient. They’ve got that twisted backwards. So I‘ve got to do what the patient requires. So I always felt that their wish comes first, no matter what.”

This doesn’t make him a bad man if all he wanted was for his patients to not be in misery anymore. I would not be able to be involved in euthanasia of a close family member because first, it’s against our religion so no one would do it. Second, I’m close with all of my relatives 50 it would be too hard for me to see them leave. And third, I’m too young to see someone die…| saw my uncle die but he had a natural heart attack so I was happy that he’s in heaven now. If one of my family members used euthanasia to die, I don’t m anyone in my family would forgive him.
