A Review of the the Long Running Anime: Japanese Animation

Topics: AnimeFiction

In the long running Anime (Japanese animation) Dragon Ball Z, author and illustrator Akira Toriyama presents are wide range of heroes and villains who choose to either defend the planet Earth and other worlds, or to join evil in destruction and ruthless tyranny. The main protagonists are Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Kuririn, Tien, Yamcha, Bulma, Trunks, Bra, Piccolo, and Chaotzu. While many of the characters are humans with superhuman strength and/or supernatural abilities, the cast also includes anthropomorphic animals and later, extraterrestrial life forms.

The series also includes depictions of the afterlife, with several characters being gods that govern the universe The whole entire series takes around a time of 30 years as Goku’s son, Gohan, is shown growing through the many stages of life, from a baby to an adult with his own children. The reason for the name Dragon Ball Z is because there are seven dragon balls in which have a different number of stars on each and when brought together from all the corners of the Earth, a huge magical dragon named Shenron appears that grants you any wish, sort of like a genie.

The dragon was the reason for the main plot which was that many of the villains came to Earth simply to gain immortality from the dragon so that could rule the entire universe. Fortunately thanks to the protagonists, the antagonists never succeed. Other than being a story of fights, it also shows love and compassion for one another.
