A Love Lost Can Always Be Found

Topics: Behavior

Being in love with the right person is indeed the sweetest feeling in the world, It’s like euphoria that gets you so high, you don’t want the sensation to last. The beginning is always the best, but over the days, weeks, months… the feeling suddenly becomes ordinary. It’s like how gum tastes like, after being chewed for hours. You get so used to it that you fail to appreciate its worth and how it made you happy the first time you tried it.

Sweetness then turns into petty fights, constant arguments and trust issues that make everything feel so wrong. Everyday becomes a struggle and as you go along, you get more frustrated… and then you ask yourself, “why have we come to this point?” It’s unimaginable to think that love isn’t always sparkles and butterflies… There comes a time when you have to realize and think about the best way to keep the love burning.

When you feel like you’re not growing as individuals anymore and you feel stuck on an endless loop of fights and misery, then the best way is to let go and think it over. Know your mistakes and accept that you have to go on separate ways to fix what’s broken. You know the saying, “when you love someone, hold on and never let go”? Well, it’s true but it’s not always the case. Sometimes the best way to love is to let go. Not because you no longer care, but because you care so much and you don’t want them to lose their value as a person.

For me, that’s the most selfless way to love someone. To see them happy even from a distance; to see them smile and become the best version of themselves… that’s what love is. And maybe one day, when everything feels right, you’d find your way back to each other’s arms… unbroken and ready to love again.
